Amber Blake is an investigative journalist working undercover at an abortion clinic. She’s there to get evidence of the clinic selling aborted baby parts for research. But that’s not all that goes on there… The doctor who runs the clinic is the same doctor who performed the abortion that killed Amber’s sister years ago. And as if that wasn’t enough, Amber and her estranged husband, Evan, are trying to sort out their own relationship.
I really enjoyed reading Hush, Little Baby. The story moved along at a nice pace, but didn’t feel rushed. The characters are interesting, and the fact that two of the characters are little people gave me a glimpse into what life is like on a day to day basis for them. Tackling the topic of aborted babies used for medical research gives the book a message that will have you thinking throughout the whole book. The moral dilemmas that Amber faces in her personal and professional life are equally as though-provoking.
The subject matter of Hush, Little Baby can make it a difficult read at times. For instance, I know that sometimes babies are born alive when an abortion is performed and then killed by the staff. But reading about a live baby being taken to a back room to be drowned was hard for me.
Hush, Little Baby is a clean novel, no bad language, etc., so it might be a good book for older teens as well as adults. Just keep in mind the topic and how sensitive your teenager is.
I would definitely recommend Hush, Little Baby for anyone looking for a good Christian thriller.
